Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Quote from nysestocks:

Ok J2 - this one is on your shoulders :) but if you are wrong, I will say, there you go, that is what you get for listening to other traders - hold to expiry it is, just hope I don't have to resort to "un-natural" clothing to get out of this worm hole:D

No buying stock, sure if I thought it was going to go up some more I would buy some calls:D
You may have to buy the stock if ANF tanks before expiry and you are holding.
ANF showed some strength today. But you never know...

Some commentary (after thinking) on your part as to why/ what it would do would have been perfect

maybe you would have been correct - maybe you would have been wrong - who knows... who cares

That someting was learned is what is important.... as everything comes from someplace, and nothing happens without reason

However telling us possible .382 / .618 bounce – IS of no use Sir

it is if we want to build a pyramid:D

Shite J2, you mean you are changing your mind already:eek:

But surely you must have known something about direction when you told me to hold on to the puts - why else would you tell me:confused:

NO STOCK NO MATTER WHAT - I am not forking out that kind of money just to protect a measly possible $550:eek:

I think I will ring my broker to get another opinion, if that is OK with you:D

Well, now you are making me think. Why do you torment me so!:D

I think there is a good possibility that the puts will expire. But you never know.

The market (people) will do what it wants and it could go up some more or it could go down. To hold the puts and if ANF closed at $10/share on friday you could be in some pain to the tune of $9,000. That's bad. And to hold the puts and if ANF goes banktrupt tomorrow, that's worse. Not good for the bottom line. And it is a possibility, albeit a small one.

On second thought I would cover. :)

And no, I do not know anything about direction. My thought was that it is likely the puts will expire but if they don't you showed me there was too much risk involved.

This is why you and RN are taking all my hard earned money!!

I must say this has been very educational and enlightening.:D :D

Thanks for this lesson the easy way, i.e. no real losses.

From the mainsteam trader point of view, we have properly retraced to the .618 of the monthly high. 24.17 is the .382 and is a decision point right?

THE RE-WRITE:

Hey, I got a fistfull of puts here; what do you guys think we should do with 'em.

Well, Boss we just hit a retracement of the monthly high is all I see.

Son, we don't use Fib retracements around here!

Yeah, I know Boss. I just thought I'd point it out. Other than that, I got nothing.

Well, THINK son.

Tryin' Boss.

Alright, anybody else?

RM,

You’re back and you’ve figured out you ain’t got much – I respect that

So I’ll help you just as much as you help yourself

When we first started looking at ANF – NY said something specific about it

Go figure out what he said, and meant

Next – you need to know something(s) in order to trade the thing

Make a list of “specifically” what it is you need to know

Keep the BS out of it please, but use plenty of Mel Gibson

As you’ll need to think through this – getting these things collected up could take you a day, a week, a month, or longer (ask me if I care)

I’m still working on the last puzzle

Quote from nysestocks:

Yes RM, but traders are fortunate in a way, as the negative feedback loop is constantly in full operation - and it is simply the bank account balance!

If a trader is not making money then it is "very obvious" that there is something wrong!

The only way to change something that is wrong, is to do something right, or several things right, depending on how many things are wrong!

And, as the negative feedback loop never lies, it should be very easy, yet so many find it so hard to effect change!

Quote from duhmentor:

There is a way to know. Your trading account balance will tell you if you have the correct answer.

If you are not achieving the goals you set for yourself then you have to take a long hard look at your trading and determine why.

Step back and evaluate your trading. Don’t ask why the market is doing this or that. Ask why am I doing this or that.

If what you are doing isn’t working then stop doing it (how obvious is that?) and do something different. Keep eliminating the things that don’t work.

These posts look eerily similar. Is it:

-plagarism or
-one in the same or
-like minded people who both know the 'obvious'?

I like to think the latter.

Quote from NYSE

I have not seen any responses to my questions regarding "childhood", and what children like most of all to do!

There is always "someone" out there that just knows that little bit more, and as mentioned, it is that "little bit more" that can make that "big difference"!

There is indeed an answer, but it will not be divulged for "obvious" reasons.

Could this be "Follow the leader"

Quote from NYSE

This ANF looks like a good stock to trade - well correlated.

Means it rises and falls with some other related markets, possible consumer retail related?

Quote from RN

Also do you see any euphoria (akin to a two day drinking binge possibly) on a chart of ANF – I hate two day drinking binges as they have a tendency to bring about huge hangovers

Meaning it's doubtful that it can sustain this kind of momentum?

Is there more????

Well I’ll be go to hell

Are you possibly a wolf in sheep’s clothing….

Or was your sleep really that enlightening (must be one of those posture pedic beds I seen advertised on TV)

I wonder:confused:

Oh well no matter – The last question you ask – do what’s next and it will help you figure out what you need to know…., and if there is more

Remember we humans are all part of a bigger family – just as ANF must certainly be – although I don’t know what ANF is, does, or stands for – but neither do I care – as I will only trade it

Note to self – Gotta get me one of them beds
