Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Quote from riskfreetrading:

Obvious but not obvious:

1. The root of success/failure is yourself.

2. Noise is your friend, and your enemy. Never fight your friend, but fight your enemy.

3. Do not seek opportunity in an instrument, but seek an instrument that has the opportunity.

4. Repetition can be a virtue

5. The best party to join is one where you have proof that eveyone is happy.

1.)If you can balance a tack hammer on your head, you will head off your foe with a balanced attack.

2.)To learn my teachings, I must first teach you how to learn.

3.)He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions.

4.)Until you learn to master your rage, your rage will become your master.

Who said that time and price are not one and the same - maybe I am right, and maybe I am wrong, but one thing is certain, the "obvious" removes the big "doubt" and focuses on the facts.

Maybe I wll accept some help from our good friend, after all, $20K a day is nothing to laugh at:D

Oh, how the golden ratio beckons us with its siren call...

Quote from Redneck trader:

Howdy All,

Before I begin

1st - Boib – Great stock pick Sir – it’s serving well as an example

2nd – Remember I don’t know a damn thing – so don’t assume I do

Now with regards to ANF – whether you’re playing it or just playing along

Did you pick up on why short would have possibly been the better path going into Monday

No Sir I’m afraid I didn’t. I had no idea where the stock would go on Monday.
My thinking was that if it got to my entry it would continue to advance.

Are you short – if not WHY – You are losing money
My entry was not hit so I have no position. I am not losing money only opportunity to make money.

Assuming you are short are you considering protecting the profit you’ve made – if not WHY
This is hard to answer as I’m not short. However I had assumed a certain amount of risk and my usual mode of operation is to stay with the trade until it is no longer working. That is it fails to make a new swing high or makes a lower swing low.
Do you see why Boib picked 22.50 as “a” target – although it may not be the only target

22.5 was a stop and it was chosen as it is below the last swing low.
If confused please speak up – you may not get the answers you want, but I’m certain you will get the answers that serve you best Take Care

I live in a state of confusion. I try and keep an open mind. I must never stop learning.

7. Heaven signifies night and day, cold and heat, times
and seasons.

8. Earth comprises distances, great and small; danger
and security; open ground and narrow passes; the
chances of life and death.

9. The Commander stands for the virtues of
wisdom, sincerely, benevolence, courage and strictness.

10. By method and discipline are to be understood the
marshaling of the army in its proper subdivisions, the
graduations of rank among the officers, the maintenance
of roads by which supplies may reach the army,
and the c.o.n.t.r.ol:D of military expenditure.

11. These five heads should be familiar to every general:
he who knows them will be victorious; he who
knows them not will fail.

It gets even better:D

12. Therefore, in your deliberations, when seeking to
determine the military conditions, let them be made the
basis of a comparison, in this wise:—

13. (1) Which of the two sovereigns is imbued with the
Moral law?
(2) Which of the two generals has most ability?
(3) With whom lie the advantages derived from
Heaven and Earth?
(4) On which side is discipline most rigorously
enforced?
(5) Which army is stronger?
(6) On which side are officers and men more highly
trained?
:D
(7) In which army is there the greater
constancy both in reward and punishment?

14. By means of these seven considerations I can forecast
victory or defeat.

I had to post this one:D

22. If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate
him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

And back to the serious again!

26. Now the general who wins a battle makes
many calculations in his temple ere the battle is fought.
The general who loses a battle makes but few calculations
beforehand. Thus do many calculations lead to
victory, and few calculations to defeat: how much more
no calculation at all! It is by attention to this point that
I can foresee who is likely to win or lose.
