Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

Quote from macattack:

Know any good sources to learn how to use time & sales from? I've had it up before during the day, but it's meaningless when you don't know what you're looking for.

I'll pay attn to the levels tomorrow & see if I notice anything.

Is it best to put a size filter on it?

Has anyone found time & sales to be beneficial when daytrading?

Hi, being in a country where CFD's are widely traded and having had personal experience with some of those notorious MM's i can only say to you: be very careful
Unless they have changed their ways in the last few years, which i doubt.
Direct market access brokers are an exception i think.

Thanks Baron.
I think you're right. ...I should look into DMA brokers.

The S may be: Big Size

I don't even have a guess on the other 2 clues.

q1) best to stay on the winning side only and exit the losing side..why back a lame horse

q2) cfd is ok..but make sure u go with well established company as many of the small ones might go bust at any time..and u will never see ur money again

q3) RN likes futures..TO likes stocks..PO can trade whatever he likes..but..the best market to trade is the one that u can make money trading..simple as that

fwiw

I'm a stock-tard, never traded futures, thought about it, but never pursued it

I habitually trade the same stock over and over - then about every 4 mo, I'll swap just to keep from getting lax/ stale

Dear Redneck,

Can I ask you how you select which stock to trade??

For day trading; (in no certain preference)

AIG
AMZN
LVS
POT
RIMM

Sometimes I’ll go with WYNN, MON, or JPM

Why these – I've become comfortable with them

eta - I would not recommend these to start out on - they sometimes can get quite lively

Meaning - should one have any hesitation about exiting a loser, that loser can grow quickly

Or, if fast moves throw you for a loop, sometime these can make you quite loopy
