I think you mis-spoke. Plenty of people were nervous about what Clinton might or might not do during those Lewinski days. Hell, Wag the Dog was released a few months before the scandal broke...it sure made people think about "life imitating art" and all the rest.
Granted, I view Clinton in an entirely different light after these past 12 years...far more favorably even though I couldn't stand the guy back then.
