Why is my Notebook HD full up

I am puzzled because my notebook has a capacity of 150 gb and it is now showing less than 11 gb of free space on my defraggler.
I can only account for mavbe 30gb max and I have cleaned out all old files and compressed the rest.

It does share files with other PCs in the house.

Any ideas gratefully received.

many thanks

porn?

On a side note, maybe so many temp files? did you run that disk clearing program that comes with windows? If you open up my computer and click properties you can figure out how much space each directory is using up and find the culprit with a couple clicks.

Download Treesize and install it.

It will tell you exactly where all you data is and what size. Very handy tool.

:D

Thanks ... that is a very handy tool and it shows my HD load at just over 30GB

However C drive properties and Defraggler both insist the figure is 130GB

Any bright ideas other than a reinstall ... notebook is 3 years old and is just used as a backup

maybe you have only one partition on this HD with size of 30Gig? and rest of HD is simply not even formatted? if that's the case you can probably add partition without reinstall
