Why is Gold down with inflation at 5%?

That came as a surprise to me. Till the time this situation persists, I will wait until Gold gets back to the position that it was at.

Last year, it took a huge effort to rise above $1700. I suspect ignoring random flash moves this area will hold and if it does many Gold miners are really cheap. Silver has potential but the silver miners put up poor earnings last quarter they need to post better numbers now. I'm seeing very solid numbers on almost every Gold miner this latest quarter and the market hasn't really recognized it yet.

I see most of the miners at this point as being "show me" earnings plays. If they made decent money last quarter they likely can make the same or better for several more quarters if Gold holds $1700.

This breakout could be on a short leash. With Tapering, real returns are bound to bounce back.
