Been in bad shape for the last few months.
Then I dropped my bike, and pulled my back trying to pick it up, and this week, it's flu or cold, 3 days of fever, so if what I'm writing slips , sorry.
The gangs are actively recruiting military veterans.
Actively recruiting law enforcement through payoffs (like in the past, nothing new here, everybody got a price)
They are infiltrating law enforcement, have already infiltrated law enforcement rather.
I personally know this... active and in control of many prisons.

Chicago like most major cities just isn't family friendly.
High crime, poor school systems and high living costs ensure that most people will head for the suburbs as soon as their kids are of school age.
Most people can't afford the space needed to raise a family in a city like Chicago, while shelling out money to send 2-3 kids to private school.
Tack on the safety issue and it turns into a vicious cycle.
Chicago is great for 20-somethings who want a high paying job and to be able to party on the weekend, but once those people start a family, they head West and North.
A city can't survive on just low-income people, 20-somethings and a few very elite families earning $400k/yr+.
That situation is not tenable. The tax base flees (middle class), and you're left trying to get more and more out of a shrinking pie.
Then services start to deteriorate, costs balloon and taxes have to skyrocket to meet the shortfall..... leading to even more "white flight".
