Why is Canada euthanising the poor?

And what exactly is wrong with that assuming the suggestion is being made to those whose health is badly deteriorating with no hope of recovery. It's an option, it's not mandatory. And if this is a new option, then yes, the word should be gotten out so that those who are tired of living like a baked potato, entirely dependent on someone else to turn them over when done on one side, can at least know they have another option other than waiting around in pain to die.

The title of this thread is an insult to one's intelligence, as it is apparently intended to suggest to the weak minded that Canada is euthanizing people because they are poor. What total Crap!

This issue I have with this situation in Canada is as follows. It appears that the authorities in Canada IMO have been given a memo to suggest assisted euthanasia to those with severe medical problems. For instance -- if a person shows up asking for a wheel-chair ramp to be built to their front door then the response includes the suggestion of medical euthanasia. This is inappropriate in my opinion.

Now if a serious ill person shows up asking about the Canadian medical euthanasia program then it would be appropriate to explain it to them -- because they have come to the authorities to seek guidance about it.

However having government authorities suggesting euthanasia as an option even when the ill individual did not ask about it -- simply reeks as if Canada is attempting to get rid of seriously individuals who are a financial burden on their system rather than treating them.
