Why is AU going up?

And physical gold does not pay interest or dividend. The "for" USD bullet points do not explain the new multi-currency bull market in gold, unless the REAL problem is non-USD based. [wink]
France? Australia? CANADA!?

France? Australia? CANADA!?

All I really know is that everything is connected.

Europe (and the Euro currency) are in terrible shape.
Smoke has been wafting out of upper story windows in Japan for years.
EM's have issued debt tied/pegged to USD. Higher USD means world of hurt for that paper.
The Repo-thang in US debt market is all about keeping a lid on rising interest rates, which would add fuel to an already strong USD.

Everything is connected. In time we will all know which country or continent is patient zero of the contagion. The US with it's reserve status, will be near the end of the contagion. Which bodes well in my thinking for Canada and possibly Mexico.

When is end of days? Still several years off IMO. That does not mean there will not be spills and thrills along the way.

I don't know, it makes sense to me to buy both gold and USD.
