This is a couple months old but it has just recently been brought to my attention. I simply do not watch Bill Maher's show because it is not funny or informative. Apparently Ice Cube went on his show and put on this holier than thou attitude about using the word. Its an interesting thing to watch and this same sort of argument has been made over and over again.
Now that is all fine and dandy Ice Cube. He claims white people weaponized the word and when the homies are using the word, it is different and it feels different. Lets examine how Ice Cube uses the word and see how utterly full of shit he is.
I put in bold everytime he used the word. Apparently the way Ice Cube uses the word is not insulting or does not hurt black people. He is calling them punk-asses, he is talking about physically assaulting them, and he talking about using a shotgun to go on a shooting rampage where the victims are all black. Why are we listening to anything this clown has to say? This is just one sample by Ice Cube. We could fill up a lot of space examining how he and other rappers use the word and it countless cases it would be in similar context.
