Currently working on the Awesome Price Action Move Indicator (APAMI) getting the whitepaper ready. This is serious stuff (true non-lagging indicator) and I want to present it correctly.

I really want to steer people away from wanting to view results (past performance). Instead, serious traders need to have a grasp on how the trading system makes money at the mechanical level. In a similar way to when you shop for a car, you wouldn't ask the salesperson for a copy of their driving record. Your primary concern is making sure the car performs to spec; the car's basic design isn't "black box". In a similar way, the way that we setup the grid guarantees profitable money management within predefined ranges.

I didn't find the definition in the opening thesis, and didn't want to presume upon what it might be...


generally, one doesn't hear from customers glowing about their returns and results with bots or EA's (if that's what they are), unless they are salesmen disguised as customers, hoping that private messages (pm's) and comments on threads like these results in qualified leads that can be followed up on and closed

generally,

so what's an EA?, and what makes what you're most likely (selling) glowing about so unique or special or worthy of risk capital?

I'm not sure who you were directing these questions to. I am responding from the assumption that you are referring to the previous post.

An expert advisor or robot is an algorithm that automates some or all of the aspects of a trading system.

The APAMI coincident indicator is now available for mt4 and mt5 in this thread. The whitepaper discusses the core aspect of how trends are measured in a separate thread.

Ideally an EA would have the capacity to automate each of the trading decisions required of a complete trading system: entry condition detection, actual entries, and exit conditions (whether take profit or stop loss).

Here is why I think the EA that APAMI was built on is worthy of serious consideration:
- 100% mechanical and price action based (with a clear definition of price action).
- limitations are known and risk is clearly defined prior to and during operation.
- Transparency. The ability for the mechanics to be provable in real time, forward testing; not necessarily reviewing past results. Black boxes cannot do this adequately.
- Simplicity. Reliable automation that can be scaled several ways without too much additional effort of the user.

I would suggest you take a look at APAMI and see the possibilities for yourself.
 
I'd love to see some EAs that don't blow up real accounts. I found a concept the other day on a different forum. If someone coded it, I'm very sure it would work in real life.
 
If one was interested in programming an automated trading system based on a defined series of rules what trading platform would you use for price data? Esignal?

I've been looking for something that integrates data feed and making trades but so far have had no luck.

Metatrader 4 / 5 already does this for forex broker. There are other up and coming platforms like cTrader that will target forex traders.

And the existing platforms like MultiCharts and NinjaTrader, but it would require either the broker datafeed or an independent datafeed such as eSignal.
