Quote from R. Raskolnikov:

Actually, we've had many restaurant discussions where we added value for each other. You thanked me, and I thanked you.

I went to BLT Prime last night, I'd give the steak a 7.5/10. Good but not great

Yes, I'll agree with you there. I do like to eat. :D

I have heard of that place, its a chain--- but I have never tried it, i'll have to check it out next time I am in the city.

It's on 22nd (btw park and lex). It's a good place. Try the prime hanger steak, it's great! The porterhouse was good but nothing too memorable. The sides and desserts are great.

Editorial Reviews

Book Description
Evidence-Based Technical Analysis is a breakthrough book in that it rigorously applies the scientific method and recently developed statistical tests to determine the true effectiveness of trading strategies, rules or systems discovered by data mining.

Whew! Very pleased that your book review demonstrates that you understand what proper technical analysis actually is, and you agree that "a scientifically valid approach to using TA as a trading tool" is available and that these "truths revealed for the first time in a mass market trading book...destroys the TA myths, yet shows how it can be used in a statistically valid manner."

F*cking awesome, Surf!

Aronson and I agree. BUT, Doji, you need to understand, what Aronson is talking about has little to do with how I understand you and your mentor Brook's suggest to trade. I am interested in hearing your opinion on the book--but only after you read it- what's your address, I'll send you a copy if you can't or don't want to buy it.

I appreciate your kindness.

However, I've already performed extensive statistical analysis and have a fully developed and very precise trading plan that's survived beautifully for over two years through market extremes, bull and bear, as well as frustratingly narrow ranges.

For now, I'll stick with the concepts I distilled from Brooks and Volman (and cornix and Redneck, lol).

I'm one happy trader

I can't argue with success. Just be sure you are being truthful with yourself. Your success will let you know if you are on the right path.

warmly, surf

I have found any statistic reliability combining indicators for a strategy. I can't speak to chart patterns. I'm not sure I completely trust the data that's out there since what's an ascending triangle can be subjective. I'd like to see more rigorous definitions of these chart patterns.

Quote from Cote Rotie:

That is funny bc that seems like all you do. Argue with traders about their successful methods.

Do you believe everything you read or just those things that affirm your faith?

Of course I do not. But I can generally tell who is probably successful and who is not. You just come off as argumentative with most folks. Just calling it as I see it.
