The truth is that only the candidates that put themselves forward stand any chance at all. Of course there are better and more capable people out there but they are not standing. So you got some big liars and people like Chump with big egos.
On a damage limitation exercise Hillary should be less likely to blow away the nation than someone like Chump or is it Chimp ?

It's not about never admitting faults of a preferred candidate. It is the overwhelming list of faults of the alternative candidates who are running on the other side. The cost/benefit comparison is so skewed that the choice is a no-brainers for everyone other than the no-brainers.
