Why hasn't video been released of the Mike Brown shooting?

That's the only reservation I have about this whole debacle. On both sides, where are the videos?

Presumably the squad car/officer has a dash cam. And crowds of people witnessed the shooting in broad daylight in the middle of a residential street. Yet neither the police nor any in the crowd released one video of the actual shooting.

This strikes me as highly suspect.

If the crowds story is true, somebody would have released a tape to corroborate execution, without question. This would vindicate all the race-baiters who love hating on whitey. IOW, the entire town of Ferguson.

If the cops story is true, why wouldn't police release the dash-cam to quell the violence and looting? Why the fuck would police withhold exculpatory evidence that would deflate the riots, unless:

a) They don't have a video recording of the incident.
b) They do but it proves execution (see above)
c) They want to foment some type of martial law scenario, which doesn't make much sense. Unless it's another Katrina to trial balloon gun confiscation or military on the streets.

1) You're assuming that a mob will behave logically and responsibly. :)
2) It's not the job of the police to make the victim's lawyer's job "easier" by giving him an opportunity to subvert/dismiss evidence made public before a trial.

Trust me, if exculpatory evidence was caught on cam, it would have been released long ago. Another point, not all police departments "roll tape," meaning recording the entire shift. Some do, some don't. Some dash cams start recording when the overheads are activated, siren comes on, etc., Some don't push the record button until, for example, a traffic stop is made, on an investigation, a male officer by himself and taking a statement from a female, responding to a serious call, and so on.

I'm considered "ancient" by today's police equipment, as I wore a "belt pack," meaning a plastic box on my belt (about the size of a pack of cigarettes), and mic that clipped on my blouse (on my tie if in winter uniform), and a damned wire that drove me nuts as I had to "plumb" the wire through my blouse, around vest, under blouse, and out of trousers to plug the damned thing in. I used my dascam often, and when needed as in examples above. My supervisor had the key. And yes, they were VHS tapes then.. No old jokes!! Lol!

The Ferguson police do not have dash cams on their cars. Been all over the news.

They do, however, have an urban tank.

You can bet your last buck that every cop in this country will be wearing a personal cam in a year or two at the most. GoPro and others will see a boom in sales. They'll buy them with their own money if needed. I know I would.
