this sounds interesting... shame it got overlooked... cld u summarize the proposed rules of conduct perhaps?Quote from jimrockford:
Baron signed a contract with the Devil. Baron agreed to sacrifice his opportunity to promote quality discussions on his website. He agreed instead to make it a playground for internet trolls, confidence men, and miscellaneous other sociopaths. He receives, in return, large numbers of site views, which result in advertising revenues.
Some people still try to conduct serious discussions on EliteTrader, because they haven't yet figured out that the site only pretends to be about trading, and only pretends to be elite.
Baron's own statements demonstrate that he has no standards of conduct:
Baron's standard is no standard of conduct. It is, instead, the mindless and standardless standard of mob rule. Anything is permitted, as long as the number of gaping primates who complain about it remains sufficiently small. He is unlikely to change his ways, unless he gets a "significant number of complaints" about his lack of standards; and even then, he still probably won't change.
I started a thread, many months ago, about the problem of obstacles to serious discussion on ET. Baron allowed an overwhelming amount of anti-social, abusive, and disruptive behavour to occur on that thread, some of which was deleted but too little and too late, until he finally closed the thread. So the obstacles to serious discussion are so severe, on ET, that they cannot even be seriously discussed on ET.

in response, ratgirl starts waving her arms...Quote from ratboy88:
geezzzzz... its an internet board.. get over it.
poor little ratgirl. I was at an Xmas party this weekend and a little kid tipped over a potted plant. Everything stopped and he looked up and he said "Look!! I have a shiny toy car - Wanna see it go?"Quote from ratboy88:
do you ever have a clue nikki? come on nikki... you are not this stupid.
Quote from cognitis:
This one post has demonstrated hope of intelligence on ET: the post is incisive, well-written, and--entertaining. Rearden's assumption that zzzoloft knows his posts to be illogical is belied by zzzoloft's consistently stupid and ignorant posts. Within the last two weeks zzzoloft has made two stock calls. He recommended buying retailers, because he thought Xmas sales would be strong; and he recommended buying CVX, because CVX announced a major crude find. Keep in mind, zzzoloft didn't know estimated find size, doesn't know how much time CVX needs to develop find, doesn't know find's estimated crude grade, etc. Zzzoloft is the rare ET poster who buys headlines without knowing anything and without thinking at all. Funnier yet are the ET posters who defend zzzoloft and think zzzoloft has income besides his social security check.

Why does it not surprise me that you're one of these people who want to start shooting off guns and calling for beheadings over a fucking cartoon? Oh, right... because of the complete lack of critical thinking and the mindless parroting of dogma.
