Why has the turtle trend-following system stop working?

My only beef with Micheal is that he advocates long-term TF as a strategy for everyone. I only wished he would emphasize that long-term TF 'works' because of diversification (I believe he is very much aware of it; so, there is no need for him to be 'told' so) and would alter his message to include such. Otherwise, I think, he is a good source of information on long-term TF.

Thanks for the nice words, but TF is for everyone. Whether they invest with whatever fund or manager or DIY (futures, ETFs, etc.). In terms of DD risk, there will always be so. DD cannot be eliminated. There is DD risk for buying and holding too, i.e. Warren Buffett, Nikkei, Nasdaq, Shanghai, S&P (just a trading system), etc.

Here is a clear example of what I mean. You edited and substantially changed your post in #152, which I quoted, unedited, in #153.

FFS, put what you call a brain in gear.

Now since you edited, in addition to my original request that you provide an example of providing a simple explanation for a complex idea, would you be so kind as to provide the back story? I'm sure we would all appreciate it.

I am flattered that you are so interested in a small time player such as myself.

No, i am not embarassing anyone with the back story. You are outside the circle and anonymous, so sorry no bueno.

I fully explained why i can't post examples, redacted or not. I take confidentality very seriously.

If you want to see my public domain work google me. I am name checked in several books including the best selling trading book of all time, listed and published on many website,-- not to mention ranked in the top 10% of all stock pickers over the last 5 years. In addition to getting global press for helping the victims of the madoff scandal-- and the funniest thing is you may read, listen or watch my material everyday-- 100's of thousands do-- its just presented by someone else.

So im not hard to find--

What's the difference between trend following and buying/selling/hoping with stops?

Seems to me trend following is a marketing term for buying or selling then hoping with money management added. No?

We won't miss DB, we've got you wriggling around.

I saw the thread where your stock picking record was discussed. Amusing.

You promote yourself heavily. I wonder why?

MS said:ranked in the top 10% of all stock pickers
He forgot to say that in the ranking of blew ups he is also in the top 10%, maybe even in the top 1%.

Interaction with the community, express my opinions.

Are you a stealth vendor promoting your subscription newsletter?

Sounds like a fruitful use of time. How's it working out for you? My posting led to many good things in my life-- that's why i post here.

No, i don't promote anything on this site without permission of Baron.

No, i am a "in the open Idea merchant" and opinion seller-- see, i am paid for what i think, beyond this circus -- perhaps one day, u will impress someone enough that you will get paid for your ideas-- but you started out on the wrong foot With these posts.

i am far from stealth.

Any other questions ?

Oh yes, I'm very careful with my time, which is why I mostly post only on weekends.

You have a subscription newsletter.

You never miss an opportunity to promote yourself.

You don't pay Baron for what you do here.

You say you are open and not a stealth vendor.

Sounds good, carry on then.
