Why elections matter, in one graph

Quote from Lucrum:

If I'm reading it correctly the misery index declined/improved under Bush II's reign.

It went down slightly on average with a spike in the end.

hehe...he shot himself in the ass with that one, didnt he? :D

Aren't you homphobic? Whats with the constant 'ass' imagery?

Quote from peilthetraveler:

If you focus on some dudes ass and how good you might feel if you tried it...you will turn gay with enough thought. Its just how the mind works. I've read books and taken seminars on the subject. Probably spent at least a few hundred hours trying to figure out how the mind works and anyone else who has studied it will tell you the same thing. What you focus on, is what occupies your mind.

Is this your way of dismissing the decline so as not to give Bush any credit? (Not that he deserves any)

In any case it appears the two graphs don't agree.
The second says 9.61 for 2008 and the first says 7.29 for 2008.

If it wasn't for the spike at the end, I'd give him credit for the lowest positive change on record.

Chart was from Christian Science Monitor here - http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/Paper-Economy/2010/0418/Remember-the-Misery-Index-of-the-1970s

According to that link Reagan and Ford out performed both Clinton and JFK.

Seems like an odd graph for you to be posting.

Also Dumbo's performance, based on the change, so far is much worse than the first graph you posted.

Obama -7.73-10.74- 3.01- 9.93
Much worse than Bush so far. :D

The difference is that the graph showed yearly changes rather than net change during the entire Presidency which I wanted to illustrate.

Bush left Obama with such peach of an economy didn't he, can't think of any reasons why it climbed under Obama.
