Yah, she still is. She's an idiot who only looks to advance a cause, with no interest in seeking truth. I remember when John Stossel (sp?) was interviewing her about studies delving into the natural behavioral and mental differences between men and women, and she started attacking him with ad homs and saying that such research should never be done! She also said that women who are physically unqualified to be firefighters should be allowed to be firepersons, since even if they have to drag you out of a burning building by your feet, as your head hits every step, this is good since it helps you avoid the smoke.
 
Oh ... one more thing. If you are pervious to the latest in female rap music, you will find that women are now talking about using guys for sex, stealing their cash and then kicking them to the curb.

Little Kim comes to mind. She sings, in often very vivid terminology, how to work a guy for "all he's worth" and then move on to the next one.

Make no mistake about it guys -- they are after all our shit. Amazing how our legal system is set up where a guy with a net worth of 5 million dollars can marry a woman with a net worth of 50k and suddenly 2 years later she divorces him after knocking out two of his kids and gets half of the money and then monthly payments for "the little tykes."

This is all bullshit to me -- I'm not getting married.

When I was a senior in highschool, I had a psychology class with a female teacher. She was probably pretty "female gung-ho" if you know what I mean. So anyway, one day a discussion came up about males and females. Well, being the outspoken person that I can be, I answered her question about differences between males and females. I said, "Yeah, guys are faster, stronger -- that's why we have all the olympic records and that's why you don't see women on professional sports teams." Well, she was pissed for some reason and asked me what I meant by that. I just said, "Well, I mean men are faster and stronger physically!" ... I don't think she bought it? :confused:

Some of these women just totally ignore facts and go on this huge rant about how they are not only going to be equal to men, but they are then going to be superior to us.

Well, if that's the case, let's go back to the late 1800's. How about we men just sit around watching football all day and drinking beer while all the women go out and play the corporate game among themselves? I really have NO problem whatsoever with them busting their asses so I can sit on mine.

I am just getting really sick of ultra-feminists. The colleges are filling up with them and every time a discussion comes up, I'm just bound to speak up about it. I've gotten in trouble more than once because sometimes I don't know when it is best to just shut up.

True. In other words, they are like Thunderbolt. They don't win any debates (serious debates) about these matters through logic or facts. They win it through intimidation and ad homs (and other fallacies).

Abstract:
Theoretical models of financial markets built on the assumption that some investors are overconfident yield one central prediction: overconfident investors will trade too much. We test this prediction by partitioning investors on the basis of a variable that provides a natural proxy for overconfidence--gender. Psychological research has established that men are more prone to overconfidence than women. Thus, models of investor overconfidence predict that men will trade more and perform worse than women. Using account data for over 35,000 households from a large discount brokerage firm, we analyze the common stock investments of men and women from February 1991 through January 1997. Consistent with the predictions of the overconfidence models, we document that men trade 45 percent more than women and earn annual risk-adjusted net returns that are 1.4 percent less than those earned by women. These differences are more pronounced between single men and single women; single men trade 67 percent more than single women and earn annual risk-adjusted net returns that are 2.3 percent less than those earned by single women.

She's still "hot"? She has to be over 70? I hope she is, that gives me hope that my wife has some miles left on her:)
 
Actually she was extremely serious. That's the sad part. She called the suggestion that a fireperson should be strong enough to carry someone out of a burning building (which was a point made by an LA assembly woman in defense of their having to video tape the physical tryouts to avoid the common lawsuits against fire departments for not hiring enough women) "macho nonsense."

Well it goes to show....extremists can be extreme about anything.

Fortunately, as "serious" as she may have been, she has had no impact on this particular issue.

There are differences between the sexes. They may be argued, but not the physical differences. Do you think she would argue that women should compete with men as equals in sports? Or is that an exception so that women can actually stay competitive?

BTW, I know of some very good female traders. But trading requires very little in the way of physical prowess.
