Of course, FED became very political, even now they need to raise interest rates but they don't do it because of the election and the possible harm to HC.

Why doesn't the fed adjust rates more often, but in smaller increments?

... are you baiting me ? 5% more unemployment is probably worse then 5% interest rate hike.. that is what i'm figuring the point your trying to make...I Think that a while ago the FED started doing more harm then good.. i'm not saying anything about the more recent slower trajectory of rate hikes.. i'm obviously not a big FED guy ...A hypothetical question then... If the Fed were to raise rates to 5% tomorrow and cause asset deflation, but also, say, 5% extra unemployment (using the U-6 measure), would you say it's the right thing to do?
Well, I am just trying to suggest that we all agree on the general framework, but we disagree with the Fed's judgment (I happen to think they are too slow and scared as well, personally). Lenient... I am against the fed completely... I am not anymore a permanent bear like I was about it after reading so much Austrian economic stuff .. but I think the fed is the biggest single specukator and if they get it wrong we will all pay big... So them manipulating for so long I think is very bad... OKI-DOKI, I can't agree with you there, but that's fine...Lenient... I am against the fed completely...
