Self delusion is a very evident in the market. TA "looks" like it works, so it must work, says the anonymous defender of the faith.

There are profitable trading methods, TA just isn't one of them.

TA works and you know it, you are just having trouble programming it,try making an index using the djt , ,spx and an interchangeable outlier like the eur usd..not saying it will be programmable but using it as a discretionary trading method,it works, as well as many other discretionary methods, all using some form of technical analysis, purely non technical trading is a myth ,you also know that ,along with the mythical coin flip argument, the only possible non technical trading would be without a screen ,a phone or an acct and you could just trade in your head,it would be tough because you wouldn't have a market to gauge it against because that is brought to you thru technical analysis, the mathematical total of the weighted indexes

YOU say "private information" is insider trading info but the article says the "usefulness of past price when making an abnormal profit."

What does insider trading have to do with using past price?? It doesn't. If you KNOW news is ABOUT to be released that is very negative to a stock and you want to engage in insider trading, you get short! You don't use past price whatsoever.

The fact is "private info" is not insider trading in this case and you have, once again shown an inability to comprehend a simple concept.

Quote from marketsurfer:

You forgot to add that it works only when combined with private information--which would be obvious.

You really are missing the entire point and simply do not understand the terminology used. That's ok, just keep on believing.

attached please find how to log the tuesday example.

review the category test procedure's three steps.

Start @ the dot on the arrows.

See the testing.

T gives you the answer.

If you reread the report I gave river on the keys to any system. you can see, now the 5 OOE's working together.

The system has no noise, no flaws, and no anomalies.

Using RDBMS and a convenient laguage, any programmer can drop in @ surf's office and explain to him how the TA world works.

As they say: Follow the money.

Hi Jack, I appreciate your hard work and effort to help me... you even tried to adjust your handwriting so that it is recognisable.

But... of course there must be a but... ;-) let me describe it this way: You asked me to come to Tuscon and somehow by accident you gave me the map of Shanghai. Now I'm standing there trying to find my way but nothing that I see on your map matches with what I see in front of me.

Is your log really for Tuesday, August 14th? For example your logging starts with a lateral but the first bar on Tuesday was an outside bar.

Could you please tell me to which day (chart) or which part of that day your log applies to? Attached please see your log and the chart I'm looking at.

.

Funny example of faith overriding reason when it comes to TA.

Past price is ONLY useful when combined with private information-- says the paper.

Nothing to do with faith and everything to do with reading comprehension, a skill which you clearly need to sharpen :D

Once more, "private information" can include proprietary analytical techniques.

It's not limited to having an advance copy of the upcoming quarterly financials or knowing that the company has hired an executive recruiter specializing in CEO searches before anyone else does.

Absolutely not-- private information has nothing to do with analytic techniques. You are just joking with me, right??
