Quote from R. Raskolnikov:
He's definitely not stupid, but he's arrogant and ignorant (about this particular topic)....a deadly combination
I'm sure he excels in his area(s) of expertise. But when he ventures into day trading discussions, he becomes a fish out of water.
Surf works as a fee based introducer. He introduces people with money to people who are incorporated and who charge fees and commissions for services.
You are correct about the fish part. He pegs those who pay him by how they do "intake" of the money he scares up.
When he is talking to people who are independent and operate making money themselves, he is searching to see if they do better than those who pay him for prospects.
You become a prospect if you don't do too well or if you might know someone with money who got interested in you.
When I met a good trader, the conversation always comes around to am I filled up with POA's, if not could I handle some money that is not being handled (too filled up) by my acquaintance.
All the good traders I know are always looking to lay off money where another trader can handle it. Most are private pro's.
This has nothing to do with surf's money manager corps; they do not make any money to speak of. They just take money from rich people who have NO place to go.
surf said he thinks they colude with one another. lol....
Here you see a lot of baggage falling by the wayside.
There is no way surf could get into the Links Club, the Cos Club, or the Century Club. All these clubs are filled with passive money types. They stay close and defend their turf from those who want to introduce them to money handlers.
Surf's quiver has to have "TA doesn't work" in it. Prospecting has to get clients that are "conditioned" for closing.
Is surf going to take anyone I have passed on? No, they cannot be conditioned to write the check to those who pay him fees.
TA's first part is what is talked about in this thread. The monitoring part.
Analysis is being separatd away and not discussed.
If analysis had two parts, they would be: the present and the Book and the games on the book.
I am lucky because the Present has a status part way through a trend and just how far is precise. My leading indicator tooling is binary as well. All I do is find out if the Book is going to convert one kind of an order to a different kind. I know this for all values, each value separated by the granularity.
Watch a WALL being touched (i.e., the limits turned to "market" orders). The "markets" are FIFO'ed and they move the market "away" from the wall quite smartly.
Reversals are running long about every ten bars or so today.
