Why does TA not work (for you)?

Quote from BSAM:

LOL--you like that word "quantify", huh??
You are truly a lot of fun brother Surf, but please don't ask to trade any of my money or take any of your advice to heart.

No worries, Brother Sam. Best wishes to you.

Quote from R. Raskolnikov:

Professional traders, trade. Hobbyists dabble and some even tell professional's what is or isn't possible. You just gotta smile and keep doing what you do. :)

Yep.
I see it as being all in good fun.

Quote from frenchfry:

OK... makes more sense. When I have a lateral or any internal as a beginner I simply "fold" the price bar and wait. Do I do the same with the volume bars of those internals?

Yes, but use the larger bar of the fold to do the category test procedure.

Yes

Thanks Jack.

I'm sure after the recent rumours some people will see your answer as a confirmation that in fact you are not one person but multiple persons. The "real Jack" would NEVER post an answer so short! ;-)

Seems like the system showed me the first word of your answer while you were still typing.

Jack, I'm sorry but I need to place you on ignore-- first ever ignored poster. I simply don't understand what all this verbiage is about.

surf

thank you.

I know you do not understand and it is good for me to not have to contend with you. your belief system is totally oriented to finding money for the CW system of fees and commision making (not trading nd investing to make money).

I always have to edit what I write.

Usually I add a subordinant consideration, that if left out, will someday caus a problem by ommission.

I'm not several people.

What makes some posts a variant of others is whether I have written and edited stuff into books (unpublished). Stuff that is ready to go to press reads like refined copy. the other stuff is just run on copy that I will use someday as part of a book.

My vision is getting very stable since all my surgeries (8 so far) have gone through recovery. It is very strange to look at a chart from any distance and be able to see the same detail because my artificial concentric trifocals which replaced my natural lenses are now connected in a hard wired way to my mind that is very reliable.

"category test" = Is it dominant or non-dominant?

Category tests are volume tests. If not done properly, you do not get the correct answer.

TA only works flawlessly if you do the monitoring and analysis correctly.

I replied to river with an attached word document. It is being misunderstood and shunned s experceted.

How a perfect trading system works has become quite clear in the last 50 years.

Making money in segments according to the segment's sentiment is the way a perfect trading system works because it was built (put together) using all the correct pieces and the pieces have to be in the correct relationship.

By 1970, APL designers (I was one who used back to back 360's) had gotten the drift of the ingredients that could be used for quality systems.

The past, present and future of a trend meld together in perfect harmony.

I do want people to be able to understand markets. Larry Harris describes markets and illustrates the different players.

Trend monitoring and analysis is what as system does on its front end. The analysis leads to decision making then timely action.

So this lets the concept of trend following be left by the wayside.

Two branches are possible:

1. OODA

2. MADA.

Quants use OODA. This is the bet and see what happens world.

The alternative is to "put the pieces together" and obtain a system.

The system operates in a place that is to the right of the present.

The horizontal axis does not have time on it. It is an event based axis.

This post is drivel and or gibberish to most.

All I am making is one point:

YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO MEASURE WHAT IS GOING ON.

I GOT CARRIED AWAY ONE DAY RECENTLY AND ASKED A PERSON TO GO TO THE STATIONERY STORE.

I made a list of what he would need to be an expert trader.

One thing was a "category test procedure" 3-ring binder.

Today we look at a signal from price to volume which says DO NOT USE THIS DATA. Just use this data this way.

Nodoji tried valiently to explain that making money is the same s learning to read nd write. Donna is correct in everyway.

"words of speech are determined according to their use."

Volume bars have categories according the the Order Of Events (OOE) in which they appear.

Thank god, ocean 5 refused to go shopping in his time zone. I was saved by a mere time zone.

So like inventing anything the best way is to begin in the middle and work your way out to the boundary.

Imagine post doctoral Quant at a fund that makes money from fees and commissions. They need a tool so they can get people to write checks so they can churn the money. The Quant just stands there in a cheap out of date suit and he is pointed at. The check is written.

We are retail traders who have so much money we only trade part time and go everywhere we wish. I m going to Hawaii and Colorado Springs in september. First to hear the ocean; second to get a platform smoothed out. We retailers have systems that extract the market's offer.

Two worlds.

We need to measure volume bars and do it at the correct time in our tasking Order Of Events.

All of the pieces have definitions. they are on their own pages in a 3 ring binder. the first brief definitions were on 3 by 5 cards and are now taped to a regular 8 1/2 by 11 titled page.

I have 9 pages. Each has a complete flawless definition and it is also in my mind.

I see bar 81 forming, know what it is in 10 seconds.

One true and basic characterisitc of the END of a TREND is that it is identical the the begining of a trend BUT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

LOL.

Try again...
