The Civilizations that the Nation of Israel encountered and went to war against, all had foreknowledge of the power that God had displayed in the Exodus of His people from Pharaoh and the nation of Egypt. Hate to break it to you, God hasn't changed and will condemn all sin just like in the past. At the judgment he will not only judge the physical but spiritual, justly and perfect requiring the debt for all offense to be paid.

The answer FreeThinker to the question poised in this thread, Why does God allow...." Isn't why does God allow bad things to happen, because if we all got what we really deserved it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

The question to answer is "why does God allow good things to happen to bad people".

It would be nice to hear from something other than quotes.

I for one am not certain of a fiery brimstone hell, but I do believe in it's existence, and I'm sure I don't want to end up there. To me it's more of a total void.

When you are presented with the eternal truth, standing before God, finally understanding, experiencing His love and awsome Holiness..... to have that taken away forever and cast into a place void of anything good knowing eternal separation from the Truth.. will be worse than anything we can conjure in our imaginations. ... ie. Wailing and Gnashing of teeth.

Terrorism is not morally defensible.
Threats are not a basis for love.
