Why does Elitetrader allow anti-semitic posts?

If the website is about porn, then you discuss porn. If a website is about politics, then you discuss politics. I dont see anyone discussing the markets on a porn or politics oriented site.

I dont understand why a messageboard about the markets should break down into long discussion threads about Jews or any other group. How is this relevant or needed?

FWIW, this is an issue on any popular discussion board. The Motley Fool doesn't just have a thread devoted to the subject, they have a whole forum specifically for censorship issues. And one of the most common complaints, just as in this thread, is the random nature of enforcement by the moderators.

it's been discussed ad nauseam.

baron took out chit'n'chat for a period of time and all the politiking migrated into the main board. therefore if u take out a forum outside the main boards where members vent and take out their frustrations the very same members will take it to the main boards, making the trading section a mess.

Every single discussion board to which I belong - be it about computer hardware/software, modding, overclocking, home theater, trading and mkts, movies, television - has some kind of chit-chat, off-topic section. Every single one of them.

Does that chit-chat involve any type of prejudicial talk where one selected group of people was demoralized?

Most boards I visit do not have long diatribes where the subject line is something about the Jewish people.

I am strong on my opinion of this issue. Hate speech is not appropriate. In fact, I bet the guys on this board who type the hate speech wouldnt dare let their families, friends or co-workers read what they wrote. They are ashamed of their words and hide behind an anonymous screen name.

I can only imagine how the sponsors of this board feel when they log on to see Jewish this and Jewish that in the subject line. Is that what the administrators of this board want people to see?
 
You're moving the goal posts, lad. You started off complaining about hate-speech, I and others responded. Then it was about chit-chat on a trading board. I and others responded. Now it's back to hate speech.

I've said my piece on both topics. Please feel free to ignore them and keep posting the same complaint over and over again.
