I have a question: What does a Back Office/Trade Checker do exactly? Anyone here current hold or has held this position before? What was it like? What is the average pay?

I have never held this position, but would venture to say the majority of the time is spent covering the arses of those who make the real money.
My guess is BO/TC pays $35-45k/year, plus benes...correct?? Unless you're working in NYC, then it's probably $70-80k, for the "cost of living."

That's what I was thinking. Is this on the floor position? How do you check the trades exactly? And are they the floor trades?

Occasionally there is a need to correct mistaken trades; it is called "busting a trade"

The market owners busted many trades that happened on that day.
the misbehavior that the owners felt happened were all busted during a brief time interval of the perceived market's mistaken operations.
Anybody have a description of what the job functions are? And if this is done on the floor? What the average pay is?
