Greetings All,
The following words, some from my own writings, and some from authors known and unknown, have been cobbled together by me, and most of them hang framed on my office walls. They provide me with strength and inspiration when the adverse Law of Averages occasionally catches up with my trading method. I hope these words below do for you, what they do for me.
"I enjoy my work because I chose it as a conscious act of my own free will. Iâm secure in the knowledge that the only timetables, expectations, and deadlines that must be met are my own. Best of all, no one can ever take this type freedom from me, because it resides within me. I own it,...and for whatever that means,...it owns me as well. And in that regard,...we are one.â
"When you know, and you know that you know, your confidence changes what some people might deem as high risk, into a simple matter of probabilities. You have learned through the pass of pain, to train your rational mind to consistently execute a predefined systematic response, when your emotional mind may be trying to compel you into doing something else. You are the discipline, you are consistent,â¦you do not need to look outside of yourself to find them in any method, or in any person. You carry them with you,...wherever you are."
âI choose to trade, for every man who is truly his own man must learn to be alone in his thinking, in the midst of other men, and if need be, against the thinking of other men. I chose my work. And when the work, and the love of the work become one, I believe a man has experienced the greatest achievement of all; the acceptance of himself through the dignity of his labor. His work is truly his love being made visible.â
As a young Air Force Cadet, the words; "Fortune Favors The Bold", were posted above the doorway of our Cadet Lounge. I glanced up at them just about everyday as I entered to study. Who knew the impact they would have on my life at that moment, and even decades later. The words still resonate at my core today.
âFortune Favors The Bold". For those who dare too little, there is a penalty which must and will be paid. While it is perhaps not as sudden as for those who dare too much, the penalty is equally as sure and certain. Life becomes dull, meaningless, and without purpose. Those who dare not become as insects or meat on the hoof; they exist, but they do not live life to its fullest. And if you are not living your life to its fullest, then why did your spirit incarnate flesh to come here? Ships in port are safe, but that is not what ships were built to do. So it is with men, the Lord gave you freedom of choice...now again,...at this very moment...regardless of circumstance,...choose to be Bold."
