Why do people use Tradingview if your Broker let's you use Charts for free?

Personally, I think you should get more into TA. Regardless of others' opinions... "Price TA" is the real deal. It reveals when "the market" is buying/selling. NOTHING is more important than getting in tune with that.

This is the internet...always have a backup plan (plan B) because everything online isn't perfect.
Thus, if your broker is down for whatever reason...you can still trade if you have a backup broker. Same with your data provider.
I remember one idiot made a big stink about me having three brokers considering each one may be down 1 - 2 times per year and never at the same time.
A year later, the same idiot was complaining one day to others (not to me) about his broker having data problems and disconnection problems (first time in 3 years) while I continue trading uninterrupted because I had a backup plan.
He was upset because he missed what he consider could have been his most biggest profitable trading day of the year.
P.S. I only use tradingview free stuff when I'm not trading or when I'm mobile but without a laptop. Thus, tradingview is great on the iPad.

The charts are very easy to use without any unnecessary things. Also they have very good historical futures charts. It can be viewed on your mobile app and on your browser. I've used IB charts which are worthless, TOS which is ok, Sierra Chart which is good... but tradingview is just above all else in ease of use for doing your charting.
I wish that they had an app that you can download to your computer to make it work a bit faster during the busy periods but other than that its really excellent charting.

TA is backward looking not forward looking. Price Action and shifts in market expectations tell you where the market is headed, not TA. There is nothing in TA that predicts or estimates probabilities whether a market trend will continue or not, or whether a trend shift is imminent hence looking at moving averages, or indicators tells you how price got to where it currently is, but not where it is headed.

Trading view is a neat platform to quickly look up various asset price levels, assets your broker might not even offer subscriptions to. Example, DXY us dollar index can be quickly looked up. IB does not offer access to that index unless you subscribe to the quite expensive ICUS feed to see DXY futures.
Then it's a solid backup tool in case your broker data are unstable.
Also, imagine you are logged into your IB account from your desktop computer but you want to quickly check market prices on your mobile while away from the desk. You could still log into IB from your mobile but then you get logged out from your desktop machine. Not a big issues but an inconvenience when all you want is check a few price levels.
This is how I use TView. Not as a serious trading assistant but as a workaround for minor inconveniences.

They have a limited data feed no? You have to buy NYSE data feed, don't offer NYSE data feed for Indices
