Why Do Gunmen Target Churches And Schools, Not NRA Meetings?

Although holding a gun in their hands makes them feel smart and important. It bolsters a flagging ego and makes them feel somehow above the fray.

See where I'm going with this?

No, I don't. I carry a weapon not to bolster my ego or make me feel above the fray. I carry because I am worried that someone will try to harm me or my family, and because it is my legal right to do so.

So would you agree that anyone who wants to purchase weapons, either first or second hand, should be properly and thoroughly screened to ensure that these guns don't get into the hands of the kind of borderline guys I mentioned in my preceding thread? In order to moderate the risk of you needing to use your own firearm in the manner you describe?

Only a punk or criminal would carry for any other reason.

Are you asking me if I support background screening? Of course I do. I was fully screened each time I purchased a weapon. To get my CCW, I had to get finger printed, background checked by Florida F+W (who cross checked the FBI and ATF databases), and attend a class taught by a sheriff.

It's a stupid one. It's not even true in the animal kingdom, as there are plenty of snakes that eat other snakes.

LOL. Don't sweat Spike he is, for all intensive purposes, disabled.

Went to take my dog outside late one night and instead of turning outdoor lights on I just grabbed a flashlight.

We walked down a concrete path in the dark to some stairs where I turned on my flashlight to climb them. I flicked on my flashlight and sitting right at the top of the stairs was a magnificent California King about 5 feet long. Now I know why I've never seen a rattlesnake on my property.
