Why did we invade Iraq and not Iran?

Iraq had no WMDs, Iran has them.

Iraq was a buffer that kept Iran in check, once we removed and castrated Iraq we pretty much gave Iran a victory.

Now Iran is going to be even more bold without Iraq as a buffer.


So why did the Neocons think Invading and becoming stuck in an Iraq occupation quagmire and giving Iran a victory a good strategic move?

I got a question.

Why are we STILL in Iraq. Wasn't Dumbo going to pull us out within 16 months of his inauguration? What's the hold up?

You are aware that that was a bill he introduced as a Senator,he said as President he would have combat troops out at the end of Aug.
