Why Did SEALs Turn Tail And Run In Somali Raid

This hasn't gotten too much play in the media since they can't trumpet it as another Obama triumph. The short version is that a SEAL team hit a terrorist haven on the Somali coast to attempt to grab a senior leader. They had intell that a large number of terrorist leaders had gathered there. This is the group that ran the horrendous mall attack in kenya recently.

When the SEALs met resistance, they pulled out. Left unsaid in the original account was why they didn't just blast the house, either with ship guns or drones.

Now the WashPost is reporting the commander on the ground(notice how they always try to blame it on a trigger puller, not the brass or political leadership) decided the situation didn't meet new use of force guidelines Obama has implemented.

Those guidelines allow lethal force to be used only when it is a "near certainty that noncombatants will not be injured or killed", ie a stricter standard than the NYC police employ. Under a literal application of that policy, the SEALS couldn't even return fire on the compound.

Leaving aside the sticky issue of whether the family members of terrorists are even noncombatants, the new policy is breathtakingly stupid. All terrorists have to do to protect themselves now is to always be around family members. No drone strikes, no annoying SEAL raids, nothing.

Obama's foreign policy has been a series of jokes, but this exposes our troops to death just to satisfy the hyper-poliitcal correctness of Obama and his radical advisors. It's the same mindset that barred help for the Benghazi vicitms. Protect the muslim terrorists, hang our own out to dry.

Being hounded by homosexual commanders and being told not to fire if the terrorist has a human shield.

I think if i were in the military, i'd think about a new career.

At some point you'd think our military guys would say "enough of this shit".
I'm wondering if Obama's poor economy and job market they'd have to deal with if they got out is part of their hesitation.

some of them did and they were retired.
others forced obama to do the raid on bin laden. obama and jarrett did everything they could to prevent it.
 
Two words. Collateral damage, to which I would say if you're worried about collateral damage you shouldn't be there in the first place. If it's important enough to put American lives at stake, then it's important enough to kill everything in sight while doing it. Otherwise, stay home.

It doesn't matter now. Our tyrant "ran" (lol!) the bin laden kill mission before his second term, and anyone with common sense knows it was to get Onazi his extra votes from the sheep. I'll damned guarantee you, this tyrant will literally castrate America while the sheep graze on their "free" shit. :mad:
 
Clinton called off a raid on Osama bin Ladin's terrorist camp in afghanistan because there were woman and children present. Special forces operators literally had him in their sights but were called off.

Bin Ladin showed his gratitude by crashing airplanes full of people into the Twin Towers.

These people in somalia supposedly planned the kenyan mall massacre. Yet we give them a free pass because they have woman and children present? How did that work out for us the last time we sold out our troops in somalia, Black Hawk down? Clinton hung those guys out as badly as obama did the Benghazi guys. He could have called in air power to bail them out but didn't. Didn't want to risk collateral damage and had to get the UN's approval anyway.
