Why day trade?

Quote from Dustin:

Well I took my trade for the day, what am I going to do now? Have you guys all taken your one trade for the day...that's all the market allows you know.

Agreed. Take the AM trade and screw off the rest of the day. I go shooting. Then do some reloading. Then the chores.

The personal freedom offered by active trading has more to do with choosing your own days off and vacation time. As a CTA working out of a home office along side my dogs and with ocean views and choosing at leisure my time off I wouldn't have it any other way. If you know how to trade and do it profitably and consistently, then active trading( day, swing, or long term) the personal freedoms offered are a lifestyle that is almost impossible to give up....

Quote from lindq:

Unfortunately, I am not my own boss, and I don't set my own hours.

The market rules me, and tells me when to work.

And the market is a very, very tough boss. It doesn't let me slide or screw up. Make a mistake and there's no place to hide. No team members to blame.

From market open to market close, I'm a slave to data, to systems, to screens.

So you can toss the idea of increased personal freedom if you chose to be an active trader.

I'm betting a lot of aspiring noobs imagine women lounging around, not dogs. In my case, the wife's cat has just about finished her trading apprenticeship and is near ready to go live.

+1
I always thought that one of our cats would have been a much better trader. Never phased out from anything. :p
