Read again the soup of words you posted from a free source with undefined author and tell us here if you make sense what capitalism is from that.

Capitalism -> implemention -> free market economy

Communism -> implementation -> socialism

Since free market cannot exist for reason trefoil was kind to point out in detail and socialism cannot exist for reasons already known by every East European, both capitalism and socialism remain in the realms of philosophy. They are economic system only in the sense of philosophy of economics. They cannot be implementrd in practice. Capitalism needs supervision (FED, SEC, FDA, FCC, etc) to prevent price fixing by large corporations , banks and other groups and socialism needs to offer capital ownership otherwise nobody wants to take risks beyond a certain point and that kills progress and innovation.

Capitalism was never dominant anywhere. I wonder what these people smoke but it must be bad stuff.

Something else: IMO as soon as you tax capital for purposes other than offering security and infrastructure to citizens, there is no capitalism because there is forced transfer of capital ownership. It is more of socialism.

The current debt crisis in Europe was caused by too much socialism and less capitalism. The US financial crisis was caused by under-regulated capitalism for the purposes of enforcing socialism for political reasons.
