Why Can’t We Talk About the Murder Wave?

I was just thinking I can't remember who wrote the 2nd anymore so had a look and Madison's full version is interesting. Of course the same guy had a long preamble to "We the people.." cut out as well.

"Another interesting twist in Madison’s proposed Bill of Rights was a different version of what became the Second Amendment.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; a well armed and well regulated militia being the best security of a free country: but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person,” said Madison.
"

Ah the old days when people thought about going to hell if they killed somebody.

Yes. There were multiple versions of the second amendment voted on but all included a militia clause and this clause was tightly held until 2008 in the DC v Heller decision. An Americans right to personal arms was never federally guaranteed until Scalia pulled it out of his ass.

Washington state progressives: We need common sense gun laws, like reducing the penalty for drive-by shootings. Here's our brilliant legislation and everything. What could go wrong.

HB 1692 - 2021-22

Promoting racial equity in the criminal legal system by eliminating drive-by shooting as a basis for elevating murder in the first degree to aggravated murder in the first degree.

WaPo: Homicides soar in District, Maryland suburbs in 2021

More people were slain in Prince George’s Countythan in any year since 2007. Montgomery County had recorded 32 homicides as of Friday evening, matching numbers not seen since 2002. And killings in the District rose for the fourth consecutive year, surpassing 200 for the first time since 2003.

Authorities say violence has climbed amid a proliferation of guns used to settle disputes — such as deadly road rage incidents or a killing over french fries — and a pandemic that continues to upend lives and strain a fragile social safety net critical for people surviving on the margins.

Republicans refuse to help take guns off the streets. They are the problem.

Or even form well organised militias allowing gangs to form instead.

Shitload of guns + young men can only result in well or poorly organised groups.

Stop & Frisk.

Or, just shoot the touchy feely cops in the face.

Which reminds me, must rewatch Robocop 2.

Harasment of young men being directed from a moral vacuum always goes so well. Basis of a great civilisation that is.
