Why can't I get a job? Recent Grad, 3.7 GPA, Good Exp, Year and a half of searching..

bitter? i'd say more relieved... like i said, i'm not entitled to any benefits here at all... i'm just happy to be in a free country... yeah, canadian women are fcking gorgeous on average compared to american ones... alot better temperment too, WAY WAY WAY less of the hateful manhating princess type that is so overwhelmingly standard in the USA...

yeah i have been in jail before, usually for beating up little punk asses like you... but also for "felony obstruction of justice" (which consisted of supposedly giving ONE incorrect digit on my social security number in attempt to "avoid prosecution" of a parking ticket, also it was the cop writing down the incorrect digit when i dictated him the number) and other absurd shit that you don't go to jail for in the civilized world, only in countries like china, russia, and the usa... thankfully i always had enough money to deal with the fascist system... in normal countries these aren't things you have to deal with... so i'm thankful to be in canada just for that even though i get no "benefits", after all your money goes so much further here... even with the weak dollar...

i was in jail with college kids who were locked up on "fraud" charges for bouncing checks for cell phone bill, food, and school supplies... these kids were in for several months at a time with rapists and murderers for bouncing 20-40 dollar checks... not surprising at all since the usa has the highest incarceration rate in the world...

oh well that's life in the land of the free i guess....

This map doesn't prove much beyond the statistic. What meangingful conclusions do you wish to draw...how unsafe the US is? Oh yeah that's right let's move to Yemen, Oman, Pakistan, and Somalia which have a lower %....real safe....
....Couldn't resist after this map was posted.

I agree with the other poster that said you must be hiding something. You sat around for 7 years filling out applications????? Do any internships? Have any experience? Ask for $120K coming out of college?

I find your claim extremely extremely unlikely unless you went to some place like DeVry or had serious mental problems. Computer Sci grads and EE grads in the USA had very very very strong hiring after 2002 until near the present. In fact, the unemployment rate in those fields was less than 2% until the financial crisis hit.

Yeah I mean something doesn't add up with the thread poster...because I went to a top engineering school as well, I didn't have problems finding employment in 2008. I knew some real idiots in my class who landed great jobs as well. If he is in fact telling the truth, then his career center sucks, or he wasn't willing to relocate.
All I can say is something doesn't add up with his story.

yes, the past 12 months has been hard on everyone. But 2002-2008, EE majors at the decent schools were getting multiple offers. Not just the experienced ones.

Oh please little boy... you're not fooling anyone... you're VERY bitter... you also said you were going to take advantage of Canada's social benefits if you do get residency which implies you've applied or plan to. If you were a man you'd provide for yourself.

You seem especially bitter about American women which I'd bet is based on repeated failures with them. :p

You may want to stop pretending you're a tough guy on the internet. It just makes you look silly because if you really were you wouldn't. Are you mature enough to understand that? Probably not.

Felony obstruction of justice, eh? And it was the cop's fault? ROTFLMAO!!! Yeah, right! We know you're a liar from some of your other posts and you've advised people on ET to commit felony tax evasion so I'm sure that's a crock too.

Let me thank you again for making the United States a better country by moving to Canada.

No they weren't. Stop lying. EE grads from 2002-2006 or so couldn't even get HR people to answer the phone. A complete and utter disaster. I don't know where you seem to get this idea that EE grads were getting 'multiple offers'. If that was the case -- why are EE salaries still below 2000 levels? Why does every EE job that gets advertised out there receive hundreds of resumes? Why are enrolments collapsing? Why is there absolutely no mobility whatsoever in the field?

And I'm not lying about anything. I came out in the top 20% of my class, and despite my good experience, good resume, good GPA, etc., most of my applications went unacknowledged.

LMAO!!! This comment actually proves how dense YOU are. But we already knew that :p Using your logic, shitholes like the Sudan and Iran are "substantially more free than the usa, and yes, safer too." Maybe you should move to the Sudan... it has an even lower incarceration rate than Canada :D
Quote from Mom0/pH0x:

wow, you are dense, no einstein, it proves how many other nations are substantially more free than the usa, and yes, safer too..

No, here's what you wrote and don't pretend that subsidized education isn't a social benefit...

but if i DO get residency here you bet i'll be taking advantage of the dirt cheap, higher quality education and getting a grad degree at a fraction of what i could in the states!

Wow, you are INCREDIBLY BITTER -- about the U.S. and American women :p

Failures usually are bitter. Didn't your mother ever read you The Fox and the Grapes? Apparently not so I'll clue you in... it refers to the human tendency to rationalize failure to attain something you wanted by claiming you didn't want it. Which is what you do in spades. Must suck to be you :p

Quote from Mom0/pH0x:

wow, i know you are old, but i didn't think your short term memory was THIS bad... dementia has set in i can see... no, what i said was that i intend to take advantage of canada's low priced, high quality education... that's what i said... if you could figure out how one of them computer things works and review my last few posts in this thread you'd see that... and yeah i guess if preferring attractive women to fat ugly ones makes you "bitter" then i guess i am... VERY :D

yeah, cops, like most americans tend to be very stupid, and very corrupt, dumbass cop writes down wrong social security number, and i get charged with a felony...but what is REALLY fucking absurd is that it's a felony to give the wrong social security number during a traffic stop and that they send people to jail for old unpaid $15 parking tickets... so hey, if living in a fascist shithole, getting ripped off, and having mostly unattractive women to associate with makes you feel like more of a man, then more power to ya... i guess for a guy as old and bitter as you, you certainly need something to help you feel more manly... if i were you i'd probably cling to whatever i could too...

Trader666, there is no reasoning with these people, you just have to look at their comments and laugh. This is the same crowd that is saying how tough it is to get a job. When you think about both of those points together it's not hard to see why they are having such a hard time.

Quote from Mom0/pH0x:

also the rates here are infinitely better... i pay .20 per thousand... can you name ONE us firm that will give me that rate???

You pay $0.20 in commission for trading 1,000 shares? That is pretty good. What firm are you trading with? Do they allow remote trading?
