Why can't americans admit they messed up the economy?

I think the world should be grateful for America's generosity in many areas. And anyone who perceives "America... land of money grubbing scumbags" is wrong.
"We the people" are mostly hard working folks, just trying to get along and raise our families... just like the rest of the world.
Now, if you perceive American POLITICIANS and certain financial elites as "greedy, self-serving, lying, thieving, willing-to-do-anything for the money, money grubbing scum bags"... can't blame you. We Americans feel the same but don't know how to get rid of the bastards.

Say what you want but....the English/American "system" of hard core capitalism and pop culture (my word FUCKISM) is over in my opinion...Obama is voicing that feeling and most people (common folk) in the USA concur with that.....

Not good for ANYONE (except for corporate profits)! The french and germans see that the Britts too to some extent....

There used to be a syndictaed radio show, that had a segment called " Florida or Germany" and they would read the strangest, craziest ass articles from the newspaper and the callers would have to guess if it took place in Florida or Germany.. example," wife arrested for beating husband with golf club after finding him having sex with dog",lol,,, it was the funniest stuff ever, really whacked out articles, .
From I remember i think Florida had a bit more crazy articles than Germany,,,

I think Americans are not responsible more than anyone else for what happened! It is just more visible, that is all. USA is a very strong country and I believe in my heart it will lead the recovery! I am a Canadian citizen and our economy and people are responsible for this mess the same way as Americans and Europeans. Instead bitching about other countries we should put aside our differences and try to make it better. it is my opinion and will stick to it!

My point on the post, and actually the whole thread, is that stupid people exist EVERYWHERE. Saying it's an American thing, or a German thing or a Martian thing just makes YOU look stupid (well, not you particularly, but the speaker).
Blaming this crisis solely on Americans would be accurate only if the US was the only country in a recession at the moment. Then everyone in Europe could laugh and say "those dumb, greedy americans! They get what they deserve!" But we're all on this express elevator to hell right now. All of us.
