Quote from Phantom Trader:
Took long enough, but this finally arrived in Chit Chat.
WWII was 60 years ago. France and Germany have lived through that, and their societies have absorbed the pain, the hardships, and the guilt associated with what happend there 2 or 3 generations ago. Most French and Germans do not want to see such things repeated.
The question is, who's worse, the Germans for having committed atrocities 60 years ago, or the Americans for failing to learn from the example of their bitter experience and rushing headlong to repeat the same xenophobic racist religious aggressions.
I can't believe you guys. In your blind hatred of America you twist absolutely every fact.
You conveniently forget that just a few years ago USA bombed a european christian country for the sake of a european muslim country. How does that fit into you "xenophobic racist religious aggressions" theory.
And of course it is because of "xenophobic racist religious aggressions" that USA defended 2 arab muslim countries (Saudi and Kuweit) in 1992 against Iraq. France was not that anxious to support the war then either. If it was up to France we'd still be negotiating withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Kuweit.
And BTW let me remind you that Germany and France are not the only countries which went through the war. So did Poland, Check Republic, Italy, Spain etc. They were also living under dictatorial regimes for generations. They suffered no less, nevertheless they drew totally different conclusion regarding the situation.
And the fact that you are comparing USA to what Nazi Germany did in WWII is absolutely disgusting. You need to have your head examined.
