Why are so many Fat and ugly people in commercials?

Serious question. When I was young, most people in commercials were attractive whether white or black. Why are there so many fat and ugly people in today’s commercials?
I dont want to see a bunch of disgusting fat people in commercials, its gross. When I see an ugly fat person, the first thing I think of is them being lazy and not motiavated. Thats a horrible message to send our children.
 
You watch commercials?

I suspect a lot of the productive people in society don't watch TV anymore. They get quick news and entertainment on the Internet. Commercials are targeting the remaining viewers. Almost all pharma commercials on NBC nightly news because only the old people still watch. Proportionately more blacks, hispanics, etc.

As far as the fat and ugly are concerned, I don't know.

You are right. I now see almost every commercial having blacks. Blacks watch a ton of tv, especially all the tabloid gossip nonsense. They love the Jerry Springer type shit. I only watch footall.

They try to do a black/white balancing act on the football game commercials, but it is still annoying. If the commercials get blacker, it is a sign that fewer whites are watching sports, too.
 
They probably cost less to use in the commercials. Many commercials these days use a mixed couple, and IMO this is too eliminate making multiple commercials for different races/ethnic groups.

I have the only correct answer to this. It's because attractive wealthy people don't care what commercials tell them they buy what they want. They only have to appeal to the ugly broke people. Secondly. It's a lot cheaper to hire ugly fat actors and minorities than it is to hire attractive white people
