Why are muslims violent?

It's the example set by Mo-murder-hammered, who basically became a war lord after he was rejected a place among the famous Jewish prophets. Wanting to be a Jewish prophet, having claimed to have revelations from the angel Gabriel, he was stung with anger and had a special kind of hatred for the Jews who rejected him and his rants.
Mo-murder-hammered's first two years were considered peaceful in comparison to the latter years, where it was one raid after another, mostly offensive raids/wars rather than defensive. After the first two years it was "no more mister nice guy" so to speak.
But if that were all we wouldn't be having problems with Mo-murder-hammered's minions today. It's the TEXT that has grown up around the legend that is perpetuating the problem. The text declares war on the whole world, for all time, without relent...with no provision for mitigation.
Consequently Is-lame was spread by terrorism, and quite rapidly, replacing Christendom south of Vienna, and south of Tours France, having overtaken almost the entire Iberian Peninsula, or what is now called Spain. Such was the declaration of war that war became pretty much an annual affair. The Ottoman Empire, for example, pretty much attempted to expand it's empire every year when weather facilitated.
In 732, Mo's murderers pushed north past the Iberian Peninsula to seize France next, but were pushed back by Charles Martel and his army.
In 1683, Mo's northward expanding murderers were stopped at the gates of Vienna.
These two battles, at these two locations mark the limits of relentless northward expansion to quash all of Christendom.
But not just Christendom, the murderous expansion went eastward too, to subjugate Hindus, deep into the regions of India and beyond. The eastward expansion went as far as Manila Philippines by the 14th century, but was pushed south over a couple centuries to its position now on Mindanao Island (the largest island in southern Philippines), mainly by Spain, which preferred its own brand of Christendom, Catholicism.
Noteworthy, in my research of Philippines history, I once stumbled upon a report going back to the 16th century that described a knife attack on a local open market, in the region of Mindanao, by one of Mo's murderers. Just one lone knifeman trying to get his 72 virgins in heaven.
This brings us back on topic, why so violent?
It's in the texts which grew up around the legend (of Mo-murder-hammered), specifically the quality and quantity of the text which amounts to a declaration of world wide war.
Now would be a good time to compare the mandates declared in the texts of the three Abrahamic faith groups to understand why Mo-murder-hammered's brand of faith has been particularly murderous.
The texts of Israel declare a regional war for limited boundaries which gives Israel a license to kill for these boundaries.
The texts of Christendom declare a global hegemony over all mind space but lacking a license to kill. To kill, it has to team up with local government, which it admits has a license to kill, which will kill for a combination of its own interests, as well the interests of Christendom, if local governmental heads are sufficiently subject to Christendom's global hegemony. Killing is most common when there is a monopoly of local power, or when there is some urgency to take down a monopoly. It was later discovered that if you prevent a monopoly of any particular brand of religion over state (local government) , killing will subside.
The texts of Is-lame declare a global war for unlimited boundaries which gives Is-lame a license to kill for the total elimination of boundaries. (With this kind of mandate, it compares closely with global, international communism which is also interested in eliminating boundaries/borders, also with a license to kill). With Is-lame, there is technically no separation of religion and state, as each state is mandated to be a theocracy, or a kind of monopoly of religion and state.
A monopoly of force has proven to be the most dangerous state of affairs for mankind. However, its the quantity and quality of the texts that make Is-lame particularly violent, and rightly described as terrorism. Is-lame basically sanctions guerilla warfare and will gladly accept the contributions of lone wolf warriors as much as an ordered battalion.
Arguably, any particular race of mankind is as potentially violent as another, perhaps. So maybe you could argue that Arabs are not more prone to violence than another race. Rather, once again, it is in the quantity and quality of the texts that have grown up around the legend of a desert war lord. It's the particular carrots and the particular sticks that are contained in the text which persuade bigots to participate in endless global warfare.
Take the text of Christendom for example. Arguably, the expansion of Christendom is motivated by the single text called "The Great Commision". Just that one text, mandating a global psychological hegemony, has resulted in so much expansion.
Compared to the texts of Is-lame, there are many more textual mandates to motivate expansion, texts which allow for any kind of weaponization, including lying, and any kind of killing, and any kind of taxation of subjugated subjects.
Is-lame also offers particularly potent carrots, especially to testosterone filled men, to participate in world-wide war till the whole globe is subjugated. Is-lame licenses the taking of war booty, young booty, and multiple booty. Arguably it is more of a sex state than Joseph Smith's brand of Abrahamic faith. If you didn't know, human orgasm is very much akin to heroin, so arguably Is-lame is mainly a drug trade.
Is-lame also maintains particularly potent sticks to keep the participants in line, and prevent them from leaving. For example, it mandates death for anyone who joins, and then abandons the cause.
By contrast, the texts of Christendom don't have this big of a stick over joiners/leavers...or over non-joiners. It has relied mainly upon threats of what might happen in an after-life existence. Christendom has killed "heretics", to the extent that it has gained a monopoly over the minds of local government officials, to the extent that the heresy was considered a particularly potent discouragement of perpetual participation in the cause. But it has not much deemed to kill anyone who simply wanted to exit the insanity, and mind their own business.
So this summarizes why Is-lame is much more violent. You have to appreciate the effects of "holy" text upon the minds of bigots.

Most countries in Europe are secular.
In my opinion they all give too much space and respect to religions.
I would legalize drugs instead, have them people calm down with some edibles instead of cults.

I believe Thomas Jefferson might be called secular at a time when most European nations were still mixing church and state.
However, Jefferson was interested enough in what words Jesus had to say that he did cut and paste together his own abbreviated version. He meant this version to be given/taught to the tribes (Indians, Natives) to help civilize them.
Compare Jefferson's civil opinion of Jesus own words compared to the uncivil, barbarous words of Mo-murder-hammered:

Thats when Jefferson decided to start the very first war that the US fought offshore, The 1st Barbary War, lasting four years, by sending a newly outfitted US Navy instead. This is the war the Marines sing about when they say: "From the shores of Tripoli..."
This is all to say that there is indeed a difference between the religion called Christianity versus the religion of Mo-murder-hammered that i call Is-lame.
Everyone here knows i come down hard on Christianity (what i call Christ-I-Aintity), as did Jefferson, but that even i, as did Jefferson, can tell the difference between levels of violence between what that produces and what Mo-murder-hammered would shove down the throats of the whole world by hard steel weapons of force.
