Why are bio warfare laboratories genetically modifying bat coronaviruses in the first place?

I haven't heard too much about this from the scientists and experts. Anyone know why governments were experimenting with bat coronaviruses and genetically modifying them to infect humans?

I feel many people would have a sense of relief and closure if the answer to this very important and critical question was known.

Essentially, it would answer the question of why have all these people died and at the hands of whom.

I don't think they were experimenting with them to purposely infect humans unless it was a secret biological warfare program.Scientist legitimately experiment with bats and viruses because bats have amazing immune systems.Bats are incubators for super viruses that doesn't hurt them because their immune systems are so strong but deadly to other species with weaker immune systems.They can than pass those viruses to other species with the weaker immune systems.Scientist try to figure how they can improve human immune systems by studying bat immune systems and they experiment with bats to find medications and vaccinations for viruses.

Also, if you remember during the beginning of the pandemic, China was blaming the US Army for the virus. They were referring to the USAMRIID. So China knew and essentially acknowledged there was a program to genetically modify these viruses.

its too much speculation and not enough data to think I have any basis for an opinion I would share.

Some governments like to have weapons with which they can exterminate populations of people for political reasons.... or so they can just kill all the people in a given area and confiscate their "stuff".

When a question can't get answered it raises other questions. For instance is the government truthful? Is there transparency? Politicians say they care about all the deaths. Do they really have our best interest in mind? Or is it political theater.

These are all questions that come up when certain things aren't answered.
