In the video below, Dershowitz tells Piers Morgan of CNN in 2013 that Cruz was one of the most intelligent students he ever taught:

Are you implying that the next Prez should have the highest old fashioned IQ? That's funny.
Seeing that most politicians including past presidential candidates are "C" students in college. I would say that very rarely is IQ associated with success in politics.
Most high IQ smart people tend to be introverts and become surgeons, engineers, and other science & math oriented professionals. Most of these individuals would be very poor politicians.
A politician is nothing more than a skilled salesman. They know how to establish a presence and a name and convey a message and get people united behind that message or that name. Unfortunately, most of them are not selling anything worth anything for the people.
$19 trillion in debt confirms we have either drug addled politicians or less than stellar students in there college days. All politicians should have to have yearly physicals and tell us what meds there on. Many jobs in America mandate such things, people in charge of our finances should be coherent enough to handle such responsibilities and for the most part we have hired sub par candidates, maybe we could out source them 
Interesting question. A better question would be who would win in a Texas Holdem Tournament? Or a Chess game? Or Jeopardy? Or an investing/trading championship?

Hillary might fit that mold as well, given an unusual opportunity by her connections and circumstances.
