Can the simulator be downloaded without having to open and fund an account.

Ninja Trader can be downloaded without funding an account and it also includes a free live data feed as long as you are trading on the simulator.

Why should I fund an account just to test a simulator?

No, this product does not work with 3rd party software, but it does support the full Advanced Charts in eSignal along with hundreds of EFS studies.

It is a good choice to go along with a broker's real time prices who doesn't have an advanced charting package while keeping the cost down with no real time exchange fees.

I am using eSignal on demand (EOD) with multicharts. Multicharts uses it as a source of historical data. The esignal winros.exe data masnger program however throws an error because multicharts does not know that it is a end of day version and tries to get itself notified for live data. Data manger of course refuses but it still serves the historical data.

I assume that if a client uses the C++ based method of access it can work with EOD.

Openquant does not work because it seems to use the active x method of accessing eSignal.

Chucky, Your program didn't have quarterly or yearly bar/intervals data last time I checked. Are you guys living in space? The problem with these software geeks is they can't trade to save their lives and yet they know everything about a software package. They are trained to apologize for not having Q and Y.

Esignal blows. Qcharts had a chance until lycos took them over and then when Esignal took it over it went to the sheeter. Excuse the non french.

I guess if a trader took the time to create a trading platform it would be because he couldn't make it as a trader.

Esignal's sales pitch is, "It is more robust than other software."

All means NOTHING!
When a trading software is good it states why it is good. It doesn't use vague and ambiguous phrases like "it is robust"...robust is how I would describe a coffee...if I used it to describe a software, it would be because I needed to BS somebody into buying it.

Esginal is such a piss-poor platform, the engineers are scurrying to redesign it from the ground up.

Esignal is buying out the competition so there is none.
If their software was any good, they wouldn't need to. LOL

Common sense, ladies and gents.

I'm trying your esignal on demand product at the moment...would be perfect if you could use with third party software. Any particular reason WHY esignal does not support third part software like WealthLab...apart from trying to sell esignal premiere instead?
 
Couple of friends asked me to evaluate Esignal's "on-demand" product;

So here is my opinion as follows;

I looked at two versions of the "On Demand" product. The first costs $24.95 and is EOD only, no streaming data. I noticed that the market internals ($VOLD/$ADD, TICK, TRIN etc are not happening), also Market Profile is not available.

The "other" version offers real time data (streaming data) for Emini at least. The cost is about $45 bucks plus exchange fees. If you install a brokerage plugin and do one trade per month they waive the fees. Again the market internals (as noted above) and Market Profile are not available. In other words you get realtime futures data and the basic indicators, and thats about it.

Tried the products out on several machines and noticed that constant volume charts did not update, and who knows what the hell the problem is there lol

So I spent a few hours of my time looking at this very marginal product offered by Esignal and frankly if you are serious about this and you need charts and a data feed, I would pass.

Unless you are trading long term only or need only the basic data feed, it is unusable for daytrading.

I think the general lesson to be learned here is simply, if you need a professional level feed, be prepared to spend some money. If your requirements are less stringent, try the other vendors (Investor/RT by Linnsoft for instance) as they usually have less costly alternatives available.
