Who's from Chicago?

Quote from vulture:

How about Jamal Crawford tonight. Kid took over the game. It's good to finally see the talent on this team come alive. Earlier this year I was down on Eddy Curry. He played with alot of intimidation. Crawford never seemed to get into a shooting flow, etc. Now these guys seem comfortable at the NBA level and they get into good streaks.

Even though their final record this year is going to be bad, this team is such an improvement over last years. They usually played 3 quarters of good basketball, even on the road alot of times. I think the Bulls are turning the corner.

I only wish Krause was still around so that in the next couple of years he could stick it in the face of these jagoff sports writers.

You echoed my sentiments exactly regarding Curry and Crawford. hopefully they are doing better not because other teams are not putting out much 'D' being near the playoffs and all... but because they are playing with more smarts and confidence!

My thought at the end of tonight's game was to hope they keep most of the guys together, since it looks like they have some decent chemistry. And that can't be easily replaced.

I think any great in court player would make a good off court player. The MJ in Lakers(I'm a Lakers fan but also a MJ fan) has been a great one. I think he handles the team well. He sees a problem and works with players or at least tries from a player-to-player perspective, not from a management perspective.

I think MJ will be like MJ...

I hope Chicago will be the next dynasty after Lakers. Lakers are too prime right now... Shaq's domination and Kobe's skill are too much of a force for Chicago or any team to stop and win the Championship.

I think the next contender would be Houston looking at how they have a young and good team. Yao can put that extra flavor that wins the championship.

Well, who knows...

They still lack a real leader. Rose can't cut the mustard. He would make a great #2, but he doesn't have the leadership quality needed to put the team into the next level. The whole team is a satellite project at best. Has been for the last two years. They lack, the real SUN in that universe. Until they get one, they will be just another playoff contender with aspirations of getting out of the first round. They also have no consistent, potent outside threats.

You can't grow a sun either. There are few players with that gift. And before you plan a universe, you need the sun. So it is doubtful that this bunch of players will be around this team too long. Management wants/desires a winner and unless there is a drastic internal change and someone flames on... :)

well said...

absolutely agree.

I think Rose can shoot when he's not too busy bitching about foul calls and may be able to play 'D', but I haven't seen him do much of that this year on the road! Never saw him as the team leader as others' labeled him. There was obviously a reason Indiana was willing to part with him.

What's interesting is a guy like Artest (if he can keep it under control) has a real burning desire (ala MJ) to win! Without that passion for winning, you are correct that you can't win playoff games much less Championships. And Brad Miller also has that toughness, and the balls to back it up.

The rest of the current team seems more concerned with their numbers than with the final score.

Curious if anyone is hinting that Krause was 'forced out' and "health reasons" is just for saving face, or is that obvious?!

Since we are on the subject of Chicagoland sports, just wanted to mention how much I enjoy watching Mark Prior pitch. Ever since his major league debut last year, I have been tracking this guy's progress and his stats. The guy mixes a 95-97MPH fastball, with a sharp breaking ball and a solid change up. Everything is in the strike zone. Its impressive stuff.

Anyone else follow him?

Was wondering if anyone from Chicago plays guitar.... acoustic or otherwise?

Would really be interested in hooking up just to have a good time. No great skill needed, necessarily.

Also, with Summer coming it's great to take the guitars outdoors and play (and the women love it)

:)

And, if we leave our cases open we might score a few bucks (quarters??) from the "crowd"!

Regards,

p.s. also, anyone interested in golf, tennis...
