I live in the west loop (at Fulton and Clinton just west of the river), and would find it amusing (and I am sure informative), if we planned something.

If we refrain from brawling, getting ejected from a bar, or getting arrested (or any other number of incidents which one might glean could happen given all of the "colorful" personalities here), I would even go so far as to suggest that it be done on a semi-regular basis.

I think it would be pretty interesting to meet nitro, fast_trader, and others....

I know....but that is why it would be so fun...we could meet the people behind the facade...

Hey, I sound like an arrogant, self-proclaimed omnicient when I go back and read some of the posts I have written (actually, I think that is a common denominator amongst the members here)...when actually I really am no where near as rigid and boring as that in real life....

So, since you brought my attention back to this and since it sounds like Fast_trader is on board whenever we get it together, I will take the initiative to get something going....

First thing I need to know is whether meeting someplace in the city as opposed to the suburbs would be ok....I don't care if we go someplace in Irving Park or Pilsen, but I really do not want to go to Downer's Grove....

are you up for it WD? where are you from?

Anybody else want to mark a date on the calendar? I am guessing a Friday or Saturday night would be good.... maybe 11/28 or 11/29, the weekend after thanksgiving???

I am illiterate outside of Chicago, so I am game if I can find Morton Grove.
 
I'm in Glenview. Maybe you've heard of Northbrook; I'm right next door. Champs is maybe a 30 minute drive from the city. 5 minutes once you get off 94. If everyone agrees; I'll post up detailed directions.

Champs. Waukegan just north of Dempster right? Kind of a Blackhawks place? Ever been to Pat's Place? Is it still up there?
