Germany is conservative? Taxes are higher there, their welfare system is broader, and like 80% of their workforce is unionized. They are indeed successful... as leftists.
Japan is certainly conservative, but successful? That economy has stagnated for over 20 years now.
Switzerland is conservative?? They make Germany look conservative.
Might be late to thicken his skin at 70 yo.
How would you now know whether that will be faked, or not?
If the leftists are such a success, why did Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina fall apart? (I could mention many more examples. but, whatever)
Germany has successful social-progressive policies, but that success is based strictly on a very strong conservative culture. Do you see Germany's leftists policies working for this country? 19 Trillion in debt, but adding more giveaways will fix the problem?

Re Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina... post colonial extraction economies is my short answer. They are poorly diversified. Also, who's paying for their food when they have no income? No one. But in the US, a state like N. Dakota, whose economy has similarly taken a bad hit from the decline of oil, keeps its citizens fed and housed thanks to US fiscal solidarity, i.e. American taxes and redistribution via welfare are keeping them fed and housed.
Germany... their public debt is lower than ours, but not by a huge amount, and unlike us, their debt is denominated in Euros, which in a crunch they can't print. Some 70% of our debt is in the form of US bonds owned by Americans. In theory the US, in a crisis, could print to make its payments, sell some foreign assets, and give some of the remaining foreign lenders a haircut (see also Donald Trump). Don't say that last part out loud, though, it is understood. None of that is ideal of course, which is why it's so important that Treasury manage our debt's payment schedule and rollover profile, which they do. In a life threatening crunch, patriotic citizens could "tear up" their bonds and save the government. It would be tough, some might be in bread lines for a while, but we would survive, our debt cannot kill us. If it could, Japan should be dead by now.

Dnc chair openly conspired to throw nomination. To Hillary by subverting bernies campaign. Dnc awarded all super delegates to Hillary despite Bernie winning many states and the popular vote. A few states didn't even vote and awarded all delegates to Hillary. Just like Crüze
