I hope Australia or Serbia wins it, but that's beyond unlikely.

Out of the teams with a shot at it, I'd like it to be Argentina or Italy.

Brasil.

Brasil won in 1958 in sweden (the only team to win a cup in another continent)
Brasil won in 1962 and 1970.
the won again in 1994, and 2002.

look at the math.

1970 + 1994= 3964
2002 + 1962= 3964
1958 + 2006= 3964

history will repeat, just on the inverse.

1958,1962, 1966 defeat, and won again in 1970
now
1994,defeat in 1998, won in 2002 and will win in 2006.

brasil is too much for the rest of the world, period.

SouthAmerica: I have seen almost all games played in the world cup so far and from what I can see there are only two teams that are playing sooccer at a level that can beat Brazil at this point - Argentina and Italy - I can't see any other team with possibilities of beating the Brazilian team.

Argentina is certainly in fine form (the bastards!). But Italy's only played one game, and that against African easy-beats. So I'm not sure that performance really lends itself to any serious analysis.

Plus Croatia, a fine team but not in the A-list of world powers, was somewhat unlucky not to earn a draw against Brazil. Point being it was hardly a Brazil so domineering that one is left wondering who on earth might possibly beat them.

SouthAmerica: Yesterday I said the following: “I have seen almost all games played in the world cup so far and from what I can see there are only two teams that are playing soccer at a level that can beat Brazil at this point - Argentina and Italy - I can't see any other team with possibilities of beating the Brazilian team.”

After watching Italy play the USA today I came to the conclusion that at this point there is only one team that is playing a superb soccer and that is Argentina - they are the only team with possibilities of beating the Brazilian team

But I still put my bet on Brazil to win the world cup.

Ghana can beat Brazil, if they ever get a chance to play them.
