Who Will Get GOP Nomination

Quote from Max E. Pad:

Saying that there is 57 states is not a gaffe, Obama actually didnt know, i would like to see how you explain away that one.

You really think he didn't know? The man was elected president. He travels all over the States. He probably had to pass a test to become president. And you actually think he didn't know there are 50 states? My three year old nephew knows there are 50 states. My 8 year old niece can sing a song about the 50 state capitals. And you think Obama doesn't know there are 50 states? Are you really that pessimistic about our president?

Quote from shortie:

Republicans should strategize carefully here and best the cards given the them. It is obvious that Obama will be unstoppable barring an unforeseen event (a cleaning lady under his desk, etc.). Obama will have to fight for it, of course, because the economic mess will be blamed on him. Unfortunately for Repubs, they don't have a viable candidate just a bunch of clowns.

So the question should be: whom do you nominate in 2012 so that he/she could fail now and can't mess things up in 2016?

Maybe nominate a "Goldwater" (IMO-none of the aforementioned clowns comes close to him. He was a very serious guy with very conservative ideas and a record to match.) and hope for a "Nixon" in 2016???

There is a Goldwater candidate.

Bachmann rising in NH polls; Mittens now in her range:

"Bachmann surging, signs of weakness for Romney
When PPP polled New Hampshire in April Michele Bachmann was stuck at 4%. She's gained 14 points over the last three months and now finds herself within single digits of Mitt Romney. Romney continues to lead the way in the state with 25% to 18% for Bachmann, 11% for Sarah Palin, 9% for Ron Paul, 7% for Rick Perry and Herman Cain, 6% for Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty, and 4% for Newt Gingrich."

I assume you mean Paul; IMO, he is more libertarian than conservative but no matter the label, he has great ideas but I don't see him as any more than a niche candidate.

I think he raised about $4.5 million vs Mittens $18 million in Q2.

Dude, you need to stop looking at poll numbers. The polls showed Giuliani and Hillary running away with the nominations in 2008. They are meaningless, they really are.

Goldwater was to the right of Ron Paul. Read some of his speeches. He makes Paul look like a centrist.

Quote from seneca_roman:

Not yet. I'm still waiting on "Goodhair" Perry and Sarah to make up their minds and on the quarterly FEC money reports.

Out of the bunch running, I like TPaw best; but he is fading in the polls, leaving Bachmann and Mittens as the apparent front runners.

My preferred choice is Chris Christie but he keeps saying he won't run. I can't believe what he accomplished in NJ.

Mittens:D

As I have said now for many months. Mittens is the guy. Obama will grind into dust anyone else, and the GOP knows this.

Umm, your ethnic pride may be getting the better of your logic there pal. Obama's approval rating aint so hot. Sure he may win, but he's not going to "grind into dust" anyone at this point.
