They then threatened and forced him to reveal the key to a digital wallet with 250 bitcoins (worth about 17 million USD).
The victim said the incident happened in Moscow on December 1. The group of men jumped from a truck, grabbed a bag over the businessman’s head and took him to an unknown location, according to RIA-Novosti sources.

“The Plaintiff alleges that the suspects took his mobile phone, which allegedly installed an app that allowed access to a so-called digital wallet. The wallet contained 250 bitcoins. The attackers forced the man revealed the password,” the source said.

After the kidnappers obtained the password, they dropped the victim into a forest not far from the town of Krasnogorsk, near the northwestern border of Moscow."

So much for bitcoin being anonymous. Not only do they know your wallet address, they know your physical living address, name, the kind of car you drive, your daily routine to know where to corner you to kidnap you...

So either bitcoin is the ultimate tracking device, or this story has nothing to do with bitcoin. I think it is the latter.

Well they require you to register on an exchange with all of your information including your photo ID if you want to trade bitcoin; that was the only way that they allow you to trade bitcoins on an exchange so what do you expect?

This is why I say that crypto is just another tradable commodity. They didn't achieve their objective of anonymity. In order for it to be accepted, bitcoin had to forgo its anonymity. So crypto is doomed. I have said it before and I will say it again. The government will never allow something that it cannot control to exist, especially if it's a medium of exchange. And now thanks to crypto, it's given the government the idea to come out with a new medium of exchange that's going to allow it to control us even further.

The only reason why 16k holds is fake money aka Tethers. Remove it, and we all might be very surprised at what BTC real price is.
