Exactly fade it .............

I think the part your missing might be, that you should stay flat unless you are at or close to a High of the Day or a Low of the day up to 11:30.

If you where somewhere in between then the trade would not be placed.

Just a thought

you are right, i still do not get that. from my understanding fading the 11:30 value if it is the high or the low assumes that there is additional information than the mere 11:30 - 90% stat. my point is that on 11:30 even if i am at the high it could still be the low of the day that holds, meaning trading on breakout from that high is exactly as justified by the 11:30-90% stat as fading it. this is fine for, it is just not a pure result from the initial statement but adds: "if you are at the high or the low of the session on 11:30, this is most likely the high or the low of the day". but this is a quit different stat and contrast to the initial immediately tradeable.

Hi there: I think there is a misunderstanding on your part. If you look at how TradeStation executes the code you'll notice that the orders are not placed if there is no condition. So, the algorithm does not care what comes first High or Low of the day. Also, if you look carefully, there are no exits on the same bar other than Close. It should explain it.
If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer.

i don't do anything in TS, so i skipped the code. i think i already see the point that 11:30-90% was just the starting point for further thinking/testing. thanks for your kind offer.

Also I think you are missing the fact that the orders are placed at the high price of today for tomorrow's execution. (The same thing is for Low). Read it "Buy NEXT BAR at High (meaning today's high) Limit.

fine for me. reminds of aspects you mentioned in another thread.

would be my first try as well. funny, i saw a presentation where a trader concluded the exact opposite out of the same figure. this is what i mean by saying that the stat per se does not tell anything.

For example, in the long bull runs in the S&P you can arrive at a NEGATIVE price to drive the 34 MA to cross below the 144 MA.

Similar problem using either SMA's or EMA's.

I'm missing something.. any ideas?
Logarithms.
