Who typically trades ES after hours?

I'm on now and most b/a size is between 10-40, but occasionally I'll see an ask size of 1000+... whoa

What do you think ES will do tonight and why? I'm losing right now......need some help. Stosh

LOL I know.......just wanted to let him get some practice. I just switched from long to short. What do you think? Stosh

I've been trading pre / after hours for about 9 months on and off, there are definite differences from RTH but not much difference as far as difficulty level - jmho.

As for "who" is trading then, I never gave it much thought but I suspect it's mostly retail and non-USA traders, somehow when a news event hits tho, traders come out of the woodwork lol.

I'm outta my short now @ 861, but 859 is next level lower to watch for - for whatever that's worth to ya.

On Sunday evenings, seems like ES likes to move in the same direction as Asia, at least for a while.

About 3:00am Eastern time volume usually kicks up a bit.

I trade small, but seems like trading 10 - 30 contracts at a time is no big deal and you could easily get in and out, usually without worry, bigger positions probably go for more of a swing trade - jmo.

Good observations.....I agree, but I've only been trading ES about 8 mos. It is sort of a hobby for me, but I find it very fascinating. Thanks, Stosh
