I hear what you are saying, however, even light hearted chat and debate about things such as guessing tomorrows direction is nothing but counterproductive to ones trading. Really, nothing good, from a trading perspective, can come from it. If this thread were in chit chat, I'd agree with you 100% but its posted in "Trading" and guessing on whats going to happen next is not trading.

Quote from notouch:

Some people are so obsessed with the idea that they should never try to predict market direction that they can't even join in a light-hearted chat on an internet forum without spewing their condescending abuse. Lighten up guys! No one is suggesting people should make trade decisions based on what's posted on this forum. But you must have looked at the daily charts so you must have an opinion on what direction the market is likely to go.

Good points.

About 50 people voted, so there are 50 people that bothered while there are a smaller number of people who vocally are against this thread.

Also, there are rumours that the buying is an error from Morgan Stanley. How do you know if you are reacting to real market information or just blindy following an erronous trade?

Think about it Noddy, only a few people object strongly to this type of thread while you say 50 or so voted. Well, guess what, you've just described the market in a nutshell!! Few winners and the majority losers. Real traders who make their living (and good ones at that) see this type of thread as utter rubbish. It doesnt belong in the "trading" section, chit chat would be fine.

And by the way, who cares if it was erroneous trading or not. Our job is not to know all the stuff that we cant possibly know, its to evaluate whats in front of us and make decisions based on what we see going on, not what we think or some stupid rumor!
